Brentwood, CA - April 4, 2024 - The Brentwood Veterans Memorial Building Inc. (BVMB) Board of Trustees marked a significant milestone at their April 4th meeting by unanimously approving a comprehensive strategic plan aimed at preserving the memorial for future generations. This decision comes as the historic building approaches its 100th anniversary in 2025. You can read the strategic plan here.

The strategic plan, a culmination of diligent efforts and community input, outlines key initiatives to enhance the Brentwood Veterans Memorial Building's functionality, accessibility, and preservation. Among the highlights are proposals to address critical infrastructure needs, such as upgrading the media system, improving lighting, and expanding storage facilities. Additionally, the plan includes provisions for creating dedicated spaces for veterans' memorabilia displays, enhancing outdoor areas, and modernizing amenities to better serve the community.

"This strategic plan represents a monumental step in preserving the legacy of the Brentwood Veterans Memorial Building," said Donald E. Hester, BVMB Secretary. "As we approach the centennial milestone of this historic landmark, it is imperative that we ensure its continued vitality and relevance for future generations."

The Brentwood Veterans Memorial Building has been a cornerstone of the community for 99 years, serving as a solemn memorial to honor the sacrifices of veterans and as a cherished venue for gatherings, events, and celebrations. As the building embarks on its centennial year, the approval of the strategic plan signals a commitment to safeguarding its heritage and enhancing its role as a vital community asset.
