❌ Myth: The Veterans Hall is just an old building, and it doesn’t matter if it’s replaced.
✅ Fact: This hall and property are more than just a building—it is a dedicated veterans' memorial, a tribute to those who served, and a commitment that must be honored.
Our mission statement is clear:
"May we continue our solemn duty to dedicate this Memorial Hall as a monument for all those veterans who gave the last full measure, to honor the memories of those who have gone before and to provide for those yet to come."
This isn’t just a building—it’s a sacred memorial to those who have served our country and our community, including John Fletcher (Civil War Vet), Al Garcia, Jonny Johnson, Bill Wasson (WWII Combat Correspondent), Dale Cook (WWII Iwo Jima Purple Heart recipient), Wes Tilton (Vietnam), Steve Todd (Gulf War), Bill Weber (Gulf War), and countless others.
This property also honors the first volunteer firefighters of Brentwood, many of whom were veterans, long before Brentwood became a city.
You don’t have to respect their sacrifice, but don’t stand in the way of those who do.
Our Duty as Stewards of This Memorial
We are committed to ensuring that this property remains a memorial and meeting place for future generations of veterans—as it was originally intended. The County once made this same commitment, but now they have forgotten.
💡 Bottom Line: This is not just about preserving an old building—it’s about honoring a legacy, keeping a promise, and ensuring that future generations remember the sacrifices made by those who came before.
